Ten Virgins
Today my heart is upon Matthew 25:1-13
In my studies on the Royal Priesthood and my High Priest Jesus I started to hear pieces of this parable come alive in a different way and I like to share it.
To begin with "Ten" represents man's responsibility to keeping something and "Five" symbolizes God's grace, goodness and favor toward humans
Oil is not the Holy Ghost (fire) but the Word of God. The Holy Ghost needs oil to continue to burn from.
Now I always have raised eyebrows and again I will.
In my studies I have noticed fire came from heaven to consume, it did not need any product of man’s doing to start the fire for the fire was.
The fire is a consuming fire, as the oil is not a consuming product as the fire; but a product to be consumed by the fire.
Now manna was said to taste like “fresh oil” (Numbers 11:7-9) and is the bread of heaven.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:1,14
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:51,63.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: … Psalm 34:8
There is much that can be posted here on the oil but I just wanted to look at the first time the fire, the Holy Ghost came upon humans.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. Act 2:3
They received the oil, the Word and were able now to be vessels of God’s to have His Holy Ghost upon and in them.
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. Matt 25:1
The ten virgins were they that awaited for the arrival of the Word of life to come.
They had a responsibility to keep and as so went forth with their lamps to meet the bridegroom.
And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Matt 25:2
Because men are not stable in their ways, God’s grace will be their helping hand, why the number five.
They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Matt 25:4
The key here is the wise had oil in their vessels. The vessels here represents the “mind” and any that have their mind upon the Word of God are seen as wise.
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. Matt 25:5
The word “slumbered” means = the state of consciousness between being awake and being asleep.
God has many times appeared "In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumbering upon the bed" that He may withdraw man from his purpose to God’s purpose.
The word “slept” implies a giving in to the body, being imperfect and a laying down action like a dead man rather than a standing up action of a man awake (alive)
Now this parable is taught as the second coming of Christ (Rapture). I am going to use religious terms here for space and time. The parable is taught that when Jesus comes for His Bride (Church) it will be the end of the Church age and the marriage will be.
After studying it I will say no that can’t be.
Let me explain why ….. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Matt 25:6
The cry that the bridegroom is coming AT midnight. Midnight is the turning point when one day is ended and another begins. Midnight is often compared to the time when this life is ended and eternity begins.
That is indeed when Jesus was born in this world at night time.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by NIGHT. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Luke 2:9-12
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. Luke 2:16
And the light shineth in darkness; …. John 1:5
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. Daniel 7:13
The bridegroom comes at midnight to them that are waiting for the kingdom of heaven. This is the coming of the Son to the nation of Israel who was given the oil concerning the return of the fire.
Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. Matt 25:7
Virgins represent the chosen ones which was the nation of Israel.
Now to trim THEIR lamps is a taught talent. See a lamp trimmer had the needed skills to trim a wick in such a way that it would burn evenly, without hot spots, so that it would not need attention again for some time. A poorly trimmed wick creates a flame which is dim and smokey. A properly trimmed wick would come to a rounded point, and should be wedge shaped. When lit, the wick should burn cleanly all the way up to the highest flame it can make.
God has always wanted a priesthood and He had prepared one for His High Priest but when He came only 5 were wise in that they had oil IN their vessels, for the “the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.” Matt 25:8
What had tripped me up for sooooooo many years is this statement “…. go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.” Matt 25:9
I’ve wonder and wonder how anyone could buy the Holy Ghost. What can be used to get the gift of God? Until now I understand they are told to go buy the WORD.
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. Proverbs 23:23
“…thy word is truth.” John 17:17
There is only one way, one offer God will accept in return for His Truth.
“love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,”
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Matt 22:37
You can’t use gold, sliver or paper money to buy truth you must LOVE it and by loving it you will receive it, belief it, mediate upon it and allow it to expression Himself through you as a vessel of Him.
These 10 virgins are the nation of Israel at the time of the coming of the Son of God not the time when the day star shall arise in our hearts.
