Faithful and Wise Steward 03

Such glory to behold from the Word of life found in Luke 12:35-50. The “faithful and wise steward” who will be made “ruler over His household.” Yes! For this “faithful and wise steward” who is made “ruler over His household” shall be them that are in the first resurrection, for they shall rule and reign with Christ a thousand years.

For a “faithful and wise steward” is one who has learned to be a good servant, one who abides by the laws of the household and does the will of his Master.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1,2

One that learns this is the one that is a servant not one over the servant!

But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:42-45

For it is the servants that shall receive the revelation of Jesus the Christ!

The Revelation OF Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to *shew unto his servants* things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: ... Revelation 1:1

See there are two types of people in the household of God right now!

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will *appoint him his portion with the unbelievers*. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. Luke 12:45-47

Come on now this SERVANT is a believer, one that claims to be a Christian yet shall be resurrected in the second resurrection with the unbelievers and shall be beaten with MANY STRIPES!

This servant shall receive his reward with the unbelievers not with them that receive life in the first resurrection! This does not mean he will get the same reward as the unbelievers. It says he will get his reward, or “portion,” at the same time as the unbelievers.

Now let us take a closer look at this teaching concerning the second resurrection as taught by Jesus.

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

I am come to send FIRE on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? Luke 12:47-49

We must see these verses are dealing with servants of God's household NOT the unbelievers!!!!

A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. Daniel 7:10

The FIRE is the judgement of God's law and it is already started (kindled).

This is the judgment of the law flowing from the throne of God, and it is the same “lake of fire” that John sees by the Holy Spirit in Revelation 20:14 & 15.

So now we can see and understand what Jesus meant when He said “I have come to send fire upon the earth,” He was talking about the judgment of the law upon the Christians who are raised in the second resurrection. Them not under the law of life but rather them under the law of sin and death!

If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.

Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee. Deuteronomy 25:1-3

Did not the Lord Jesus say "...shall be beaten with many stripes..."

To be continued.
