Spirit of Infirmity

Luke 13:11-13 ...... there was a woman (soul) which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, ...

This woman (soul) had a 'spirit' of infirmity for 18 years.

For 18 years her soul could not see past the infirmity! She was so overwhelmed with the infirmity that it was constantly her food. I see not a sickness here, but a woman in bondage to the law of sin and death.

Scraping the dust because the letter of the law was only a "shadow" of Him to come!

See 18 is the fulfillment of the commandments or
represents the release from bondage, and this woman was about to be made free from the law to receive grace and Truth which is the New Covenant!

What I found amazing in this study is the difference between Matza (unleavened bread) and Bread (leavened). See both need flour and water and someone to kneaded it into a dough. The difference between them is that bread when left alone for 18 minutes will become ‘leavened’ bread.

See 18 minutes is the amount of time it takes for Matza (unleavened bread) to turn into Bread (leavened).

Here we have a woman (soul) that had a spirit of infirmity for 18 years and because of the infirmity she was completely overcome by it, in that she was bent forward (married to another law, the law of sin and death).

The law of Moses in no wise could help any to be perfect, just as this woman (soul) who was under the law “could in no wise lift up herself!”

For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did
by the which we draw nigh unto God. Hebrews 7:19

18 years, I see is the time of fulfillment for her; for one greater than the law called out to her ...

"Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity."

Ohhhhhhhhh the joy that flooded her soul to hear that voice speak a word that would make her free from an infirmity (law) that held her in a position of seeing nothing but dust (death)!

Not only did Jesus the Christ call her, He acted as a High Priest and laid His hands on her and IMMEDIATELY she was made straight!!!!!

Ohhhhhhhh GLORY

A display for all to see; This woman (soul) now has a new beginning, not bowed to the infirmity (law of sin and death) but straightened up to “glorify God.”

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16
