Logos and Rhema

And He answered and said unto them, "My mother and my brothers are these who hear the Word [Logos] of God, and do it." Luke 8:21

[You are] making the Word of God [Logos] of no effect through your tradition, which you have delivered: and many such things do you. Mark 7:13

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the Word [Logos] of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret" Luke 5:1

These things have I written unto you concerning them that deceive you. But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall 'abide in him.' And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 1 John 2:26-28

The Logos, the Word, is the one who does the speaking.

Rhema is what He is speaking.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word [rhema] that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4

Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word [rhema] of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Luke 3:1-2

"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you that every idle word [rhema] that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. Matthew 12:34-36

"Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that "by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word [rhema] may be established.' Matthew 18:15-16

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to your word [rhema]. And the angel departed from her. Luke 1:38

Rhema is the spoken Word not the dead word on paper.

Now let the Anointing rest upon our hearts ....

To him [Jesus] give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believes in him shall receive remission of sins. While Peter yet spoke these words [rhema], the Holy Spirit fell on all them who heard the word [Logos]. Acts 10:43-44

Again ---- The Logos, the Word, is the one who does the speaking.

Rhema is what He is speaking.

It is not enough to just hear the words of the gospel. Salvation comes when we not only hear the words with our ears, but we hear the Logos - the Word of God speaking to us.

And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Mat 13:4

When any one heareth the word (logos) of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. Mat 13:19

This became a living Word in my heart yesterday as I read it and it became a living Word for me ...... But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12,13

Those who are born into God's kingdom are "born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." For there are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he has testified of his Son.

He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself: he that believes not God has made him a liar; because he believes not the witness that God gave of his Son. 1 John 5:7-10

Did not Jesus speak forth the same truth?

Jesus said: And if any man hear my words [rhema], and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receives not my words [rhema], has one that judges him: the Word [Logos] that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:47-48

Wonder why so many reject us ....... its for the Word sake!!!!!

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John 3:19-21

They that don't live in and by the Logos of God, are none of His.

Christ Jesus is that word that still shines forth in the darkness and the darkness overcomes it not. Light has come into the world and no matter how dark the world will be or how dark things become around us that Light will never be put out.

"We have also a more sure word [Logos] of prophecy; to which you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts" 2 Peter 1:19

When we allow the Logos of God to speaks His word of prophesy into our hearts we have His purifying light that will reveal and remove any darkness from our hearts.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing you are enriched by him, in all utterance [Logos], and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Corinthians 1:4-7

The living and true Word, is still speaking through His Spirit to us today. Let the Word know you and as you allow Him to know you you will be knowing by Him.
