The Will And Purpose Of God - Des Walter Christianity has had a checkered career over the last 2000 years, spawning numerous variations, some trivial but some very dynamic. It would seem that the focus of most Christians has been on the establishing of the thing called CHURCH. If it were judged by the amount of money, effort and manpower involved, it would be safe to say, no other issue involving Christianity is of more importance. The strange thing is that Jesus never once suggested that the disciples or anyone else should become involved in establishing a “Church.” There is no command in scripture concerning such a project, in fact Jesus said very plainly, “I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH.” It could only be that we are either ignorant of what Jesus was talking about, or we believe he is falling down on the job and needs our help!
