Sonship Rather Than Churchship
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, .... 2 Timothy 1:9 Let us break it down and see sonship not so called church ship. 1. God who hath saved us. God saves! not some prayer, church teaching or even some baptism. 2. God called us with an holy calling. God called us not some man nor church. 3. NOT according to our works. Now a sinners prayer is one's work, or obeying some evangelist call or even a water baptism! 4. God calls "according to his own purpose...." God calls, not some work on behalf of the one being saved! It is according to God's OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE! Notice God's!!! NOT any work one does. BUT God!!!!! 5. "...and grace!"
