Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:6

The letter of the word can never fully teach one what they need to know, for each person must come to the place of seeing God, as He is, which brings a person to a change of thinking.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2

Affection ------ to have understanding, be wise

When Jesus came out of the water and the heavens opened to him, revealing He was to relentlessly seek those things which were above his earthen heritage.

I see this shows us that sons are to give their thinking to those things that are above and not to the things on the earth.

Malachi 3:3 ----- And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: .....

Why does he sit as a refiner?

Does the act of sitting have a purpose in the purifier of silver?

Yes it does for as the silver smith watches the silver be purified over the fire if he forgets about it the fire will destroy the silver.

So the silver smith sits watching the silver in the fire until he sees his image in the silver; that is when he knows it is pure and removes the silver from the fire.

wise come out

But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Matthew 25:6 (NASB)

For me I find Matthew 25:1-13 has been a parable of growth within.

It has never jumped off the page in my heart but has as a seed been sprouting branches, leaves and fruit. I have eaten it many times but have never had a light shine so bright that I could tell any what I see. I have only shared bits and pieces of it as He has willed for me.

This morning as I found myself reading many different things this has set itself before my heart once again.

However, some understand leaped into me to bring me to the Deep.

"Come out"

All 10 got drowsy and began to sleep. (Matthew 25:5)

That is a sign for us to see that all 10 became slothful in thier ways and fell back into the world and started to sleep with them of the night.

How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Pro 6:9

Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; .... Pro 19:15

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Rom 13:11
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; ….. 1Th 5:6,7
This call to “come out” was indeed heard by all 10 yet only 5 were called the ‘wise’ for they kept their heart awake and when they heard the voice they knew it was the voice of the bridegroom that knocks. (Sng 5:2)
How we need to understand a wedding by Israel ways.

See when the preparations for the wedding feast were complete, the young women would wait for the bridegroom to escort them with lighted torches or lamps to the house where the celebration was to take place.

Here we have the bridegroom at the door and the cry is heard “Come out to meet him” so off went the 5 wise to following the voice of the bridegroom as He carried the main light to the wedding feast.

I see the 5 wise as the ones that have come out of Babylon and the Lord is preparing His wise virgins in this day to be His spirit filled vessels of righteousness. Truth is making them free from Babylon for their ears are tuned to His voice and His alone.

Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Psa 80:3

Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Psa 80:7

Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Psa 80:19

And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart. Psa 104:15

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. Dan 12:3

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; .... Phl 2:15,16

"..... in the midst of a crooked and perverse "nation"

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out" of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Rev 18:4

To obey is better than sacrifice!

"To obey is better than sacrifice!" 1 Samuel 15:22-23

That is, to listen and pay attention is better than the fat of rams!

Going from Matthew 25:1-13 into Matthew 25:14-30 I am seeing that obedience (obey) is so much more than merely doing what one is told.

Obey (obedience) ----> "to hear intelligently."

Them in darkness can not hear for their intelligent (mind) is blinded by the god of this world.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Cor 4:4

We how have the "light" and must be obedient to what we hear in that we are to submit to His authority and carry out His instructions.

That is, listen intently using ones ability to acquire and apply both the knowledge and the skills to what is heard.

Matthew 25:14-31 in a nut shell -------> A rich man delegates the management of his wealth to his servants. He gives five talents to the first servant, two talents to the second, and one talent to the third. Two of the servants earn 100 percent returns by trading with the funds, but the third servant hides the money in the ground and earns nothing. The rich man returns, rewards the two who made money, but severely punishes the servant who did nothing.

Now the servant who received one talent was not condemned for failing to reach the five-talent goal; he was condemned because he did nothing with what he was given.

So we see as we press on that ".... every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath."

How does one end up with nothing? But by doing nothing with the talents that were given unto him.

Again ..... "To obey is better than sacrifice!"

Free will?

Humankind is not a "free moral agent." Rather, they are a slave.

"We know that the Law is spiritual: but I am a creature of the flesh (carnal), having been sold into slavery under the control of sin" Romans 7:14 Amplified

"For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin." Romans 7:14 KJV

Among whom also we all had  our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the  desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children  of wrath, even as others. Ephesians 2:3 KJV

Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of [a]human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God’s] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. Ephesians 2:3 (AMP)

So I was by nature the children of wrath, even as others."

I was an sinner by nature!

I was born into this condition and had no way to deliver myself from this bondage to sin, because my human spirit is dead from birth.

When the light, the Word of life shone in my spirit mind I realized why I was an enemy to God; and that my freedom from the nature of sin can only come by being born again I turned from myself to His Word and obeyed it according to the light He gave me.

The seed fell in this earth and the Spirit gave me grace to keep the ground free from anything that will kill the seed. Over time I have seen how my flesh the earth loves to bring in plants of death to work at killing the seed. I also have seen how I was carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

I spent so much time being tossed with doctrine of adversaries rather than being firm upon the stone. Though it seemed like a lost case the Father has taught me to know the difference between the voices of man and His. This boat though it was about to sink at times had one in it that spoke calm to my storms yet the one in it would not bring me to dry ground until I learned how to be a over comer.

How we must realize that the natural man is completely incapable of discerning Truth.

"The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him. Neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" 1 Corinthians 2:14

A dead spirit perceives only the things of the fallen nature of Adam and that is only the seed from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Until the spirit is made alive in one, they can perceive that knowledge.

They cannot see the kingdom of God!

How we must realize humankind is not saved by an act of their own free will. They are saved by grace, the divine enablement of God who first gives them Life and then imparts faith in their heart as a free gift.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. It is not of works, lest any man should boast" Ephesians 2:8,9

I know see that saving faith is the gift of God, not an exercise of my free will!

I am saved by a faith which "is not of myself"

I believed by the faith which God gives, and not by our own free will.

Before I was born again the Word of God was not a part of my natural life for it is only seen and heard in the Spirit.

"Why do ye not understand My speech? Even because ye cannot hear My word! Ye are of your father the devil" John. 8:43,44.

But once God quickened me by the gift of Life and the gift of Faith, the word now is:

"It is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure" Philippians 2:13

Did not Jesus say …. "No man can come to Me, except the father which hath sent Me draw (or drag) him" John 6:44.

However i still hear and see many that insists on a doctrine of humankind being "a free moral agent" having their “own free will” yet the Word says the exact opposite.

It tells us that "The creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of Him who hath subjected the same in hope" Romans 8:20

I have and can say I was following Leah in that I thought my will was able to save myself by my good works which was nothing but the following of the law in the knowledge of good and evil. Finally, at the age of 22, He drew me to the foot of the cross and I found Him there. My heart came into peace as His life entered me and changed me into one who was able to have a personal relationship with his Creator and Lord. I confess freely that it was nothing of my own WILL – He drew; He gave life and faith to believe in Him.

It was a power beyond myself that made me a new creation, one who was alive from the dead!

My will did not find Him nor did my will call upon His name. It was His will for me and as Saul I too fell as the light from heaven shone round me.

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Romans 5:19

That one that cast me to where I did not want to be was also a image of Him to was to come to bring me to where He wanted me to be!
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. John 12:31

The actions of the first Adam was now in the cross hairs of Him that was to cast Adam out of this world.

As truth showed Adam’s actions brought death unto all so all will see that Jesus said that the prince of this world would be cast out and that He, the last Adam, the representative of the whole human race, would decide for the whole human race, just as the first Adam, the first representative man, decided for us all.

If the first Adam, as a representative man, was able to decide for all the world and put us all into sin and death, then the last Adam, the Christ of God, as the representative man, could decide to take all of us out of sin!

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin. Romans 6:3-7

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Romans 5:10

Glory to God for the death of Jesus reconciled us, God’s enemies, back unto Him.

God sent His Son, and by the dying of that Son, reconciled the world unto Himself

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19

How we must see that God did not consult any of us just as Adam did not consult us. God not ask the world whether it wanted to be reconciled back to Him He in His mercy reached back through the garden and opened the way for humankind to return to Him.

Yes! The Father of creation just went ahead and did it!

For He knew from the beginning that we would not be capable of deciding for ourselves what was right, what was truth; for we would be so bound by the law of sin and death, that our reasoning would be so warped by the god of this world, that we could not decide.

For God sent His Son as a representative for us to make the decision for us, to lead us all back to Himself.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

As sheep gone astray we could not no longer find the right pathway to the tree of Life and so God sent forth His Word in human flesh to point us back to the way the tree of Life!

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

AGAIN ….. "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation" 2 Corinthians 5:19

Let the truth be knowing that the destiny of the world was settled in one man

Jesus the Christ the Son of God was both the sacrifice and the new head of the race who would gather any that would turn from the wrong path unto Him and He would lead us into salvation.

I so much bless the Lord for He did not permit me to decide the eternal question, but that He sent His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, to do it for me.
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32

So I will say "No man is a free moral agent", nor is his will stronger than God’s.

“…..  Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Act 2:37-39
