For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.

Again chewing ...... Peter is called satan for he spoke the things that be of man .....Mat 16:22

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Mat 16:22,23

Jesus tells Peter that his rebuke is an offence unto Jesus for Peter rebuke is of men.

savourest =  “to savour, to think, to regard, to mind, to understand, to set affection on, and to care (about something)”

“SET YOUR AFFECTION on things above, not on things of the earth.” Colossians 3:2

Now how many would be rebuked today for their affections that have drift from ‘things above’ to the things of this world, flesh and the very words (mind) of man?

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mat 16:24-26

To step in deeper .... we see here that Peter set his affection upon the minds of man that reject the finish work of the cross.

Let me say "Any person that has NOT the spirit of Christ is not of God nor does that person speak any words that are of God. (Romans 8:9)

Now, if you stepped back and wiped your brow thinking that is not you than you are that!

So many today are chasing the affections of the world in fear of the minds of man.

How they forget the words of Jesus .... What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Mat 10:27-31

Yes ..... minds of the world speak and many jump at the words of these worldly mindful ones.

The deep part is something I been chewing on for some time now and its this verse ....
But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. Luke 9:55

Now .... coming from a Babylon devil I used that verse to teach of a so called fallen spirit that is called the great dragon, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.

Yet, God is Truth and truth does MAKE one free of the lies of the minds of many that work at keeping one in bondage and death. (Any NOT born again will only work at keeping one in sin and death. They have NO words of life and therefore speak the things that be of humankind.

Ok let me step in deeper here. Jesus rebukes James and John for the spoken words that they breathed out of their mouths (spirit)

See the word ‘spirit’ means air and we know we have vocal cords that when used we speak words which are sounds that are move by air.

So James and John speak their minds and Jesus says they don’t know what ‘spirit’ they are of ....

The spoken words of James and John came forth from within and for one to hear them words one needs to hear the air that is being spoken.

Funny the vocal cords look like an eye hmmmmmm.

Back to deep.

So when Jesus rebukes them for what they say He is not rebuking them for being a Babylon devil but He rebukes them for the words (spirit) of man's judgement!
