Spirit of Understanding
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind , Having the understanding darkened , being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them , because of the blindness of their heart : ... Ephesians 4:17, 18 Repentance is to NOT walk in the 1) vanity of our minds 2) our understanding darkened 3) alienated from the life of God 4) through the ignorance that is in them 5) because of the blindness of the heart Darkness IS IGNORANCE and to be in darkness means to be in ignorance. Ignorance is a condition of the MIND , in which the mind lacks UNDERSTANDING . The Apostles Paul tells us that men have their “ UNDERSTANDING darkened” because of the “ ignorance ” that is in them! It is this condition of ignorance that causes the whole world of men to walk in darkness, being lost, alienated from the life that is in God. So let us walk ( UNDERSTANDING ) not as other Gentiles walk ( UNDERSTANDING )
