Spirit of Understanding
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: ... Ephesians 4:17, 18
Repentance is to NOT walk in the
1) vanity of our minds
2) our understanding darkened
3) alienated from the life of God
4) through the ignorance that is in them
5) because of the blindness of the heart
Darkness IS IGNORANCE and to be in darkness means to be in ignorance.
Ignorance is a condition of the MIND, in which the mind lacks UNDERSTANDING. The Apostles Paul tells us that men have their “UNDERSTANDING darkened” because of the “ignorance” that is in them! It is this condition of ignorance that causes the whole world of men to walk in darkness, being lost, alienated from the life that is in God.
So let us walk (UNDERSTANDING) not as other Gentiles walk (UNDERSTANDING)
UNDERSTANDING is a wellspring of LIFE unto him that hath it: .... Proverbs 16:22
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get UNDERSTANDING. Proverbs 4:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the KNOWLEDGE of the HOLY is UNDERSTANDING. Proverbs 9:10
What realm do you apply the Word of God in? To apply it in the natural is to die by the letter but to have His word in the spiritual is to be in the UNDERSTANDING of the life of God!
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and DOETH THEM NOT, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:26,27
So many with the natural understanding say not, touch not, taste not and handle not are they that miss out on the UNDERSTANDING of the divine life that produces love, joy, peace, righteousness of heart and all the fruit of the Spirit!
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17
So many with the natural mind will say, “Lo, He is here!” or “Lo, He is there!” But the spiritual minded with His understanding will know within them He is! For heaven is the realm of the Spirit and a state of being, not a place.
You must find it by forsaking the world and self, and all the carnal religious exercises of the world, to hear the quickening voice of the Spirit, to walk (UNDERSTANDING) after the Spirit, to live in the Spirit.
The home and heaven of God is within you, for you are the temple of the living God, as God hath said “...I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
