Age and Ages 3

Now let (no pun attended) us look at the words "everlasting", "ever" and "eternal." Before we do I want to at the Hebrew and Greek meanings for the Hebrew word olam and the Greek word aion both mean "age" or "eon." The Hebrew "olam" comes from a root meaning "hidden." The word therefore means a period of time, but a period of unknown or hidden length. The word was often used to mean a man's lifetime because it was an unknown period. However it is the Greek word "aion" I like for us to look at in depth for it is a word used much in the New Testament. The Greek word "aion" was the word used for the Hebrew word "olam". According to Hebrew and Greek usage, therefore, these words mean a period of time, a period of unspecified length, the duration of which is determined by the fact or condition or person to which the term is applied. The word "aion" in noun form is used 12

Let and For Ever 2

"Let" what a word indeed. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Roman church that he had often "purposed to come to you, but was LET hitherto." Romans 1:13 Today, we would say "hindered," instead of "let." In the last few hundred years the usage has completely changed the meaning of the word "let." It may be spelled the same, and pronounced the same, but the meaning has been changed to the exact opposite. Since usage always determines meaning, biblical usage, certainly, always determines biblical meaning. Come on now I know for I struggled with a few words that my Sister, my wife had to help me out with, the meaning for the usage of the word today was not the usage when the KJV bible was written. Now I like to look at the term "for ever." ("eternal and everlasting") My first question is "How many days and nights was Jonah in the belly of the fish?" Of course we would answer three days and three night

Reconciliation 1

In my studies of 30+ years I came across 3 camps. One camp was the Eternal Torment camp and I spent most of my walk in that camp. I never looked at anything else, my eyes were fixed upon eternal torment and I proclaimed there was only one way to avoid it. Being baptized in Jesus name! One night the Father asked me a question. "Why would I need to have a place of eternal torment?" That question brought me to looking at 'Who God is!' However, I want to look at the three camps and their use of bible scriptures. Eternal Torment Camp "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched" Mark 9:43,44 "Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" Matt.25:41 "And the b

In Christ 2

A depth to deep at the moment will draw in the many sons! Lets not forget ---->“we were chosen IN Him (Christ Jesus) BEFORE the foundation of the world.” Ephesians 1:4 Ahhhhhhhh such profound Truth to behold that we are BEING BORN AGAIN ! BEING born again, not of corruptible SEED, but of incorruptible, by the WORD OF GOD , which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:23 Let our eyes see that we are BEING born again and that BEING is an ongoing process! Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14 Is this a new teaching? A new doctrine? Naaaaaaaaaaa even the Apostle Peter knew w

In Christ

A thought so profound that the mind can draw blanks unless the answer is given by Him who is .....“When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?” Matthew 16; 13-15 Such a sweet echo of Truth that from time beginning is still heard by them that have ears to hear ---->“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” John 17:51 Even the Apostle Paul kept his hearing open when by the pen of his heart he wrote ---->“That I may KNOW HIM , and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.” Philippians 3:10 Such glory to be heard when one's ear is opened to what saith the Lord rather than what man teaches conce

Manifested Fire

Much to think about in these verses ---->And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore CAST OFF the works of darkness, and let us PUT ON the " armour " of light. Let us WALK honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But PUT YE ON the Lord Jesus Christ , and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14 Let us notice that the Apostle Paul’s letter was addressed to people who were already saved and were believers IN Christ. The Apostle Paul spoke of a salvation that was much nearer now, than when they first believed. So he could not have been speaking of the basic act of conversion—they were already believers: but they were being put on notice to be ready for a different aspect of their salvation. What were t

The Potter at work with His creation

The Apostle Paul said the Old Testament (OT) was ".... written for our admonition ....". So let us look at the Potter at work. What we will see is that just about all of the Old Testament (OT) events are meant to be guidelines and examples for us to follow. Some examples that are for good, those we should follow. Other examples that showed evil, disobedience, rebellion and such the like, those we do not follow. The Old Testament can be seen as a classroom from which we never graduate, because knowledge and growth have no boundaries for each lesson makes us ready for the next lesson. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1 Corinthians 10:11 In the Potter's hand begins the process of the raw material which are broken, molded and shaped into vessels of the Potter’s choosing. The Old Testament (OT) shows us the activity of the raw material and how the Potter went about H
