Manifested Fire
Much to think about in these verses ---->And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore CAST OFF the works of darkness, and let us PUT ON the "armour" of light.
Let us WALK honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But PUT YE ON the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14
Let us notice that the Apostle Paul’s letter was addressed to people who were already saved and were believers IN Christ. The Apostle Paul spoke of a salvation that was much nearer now, than when they first believed. So he could not have been speaking of the basic act of conversion—they were already believers: but they were being put on notice to be ready for a different aspect of their salvation.
What were they supposed to do? They were to put on the "armour" of light!
Brings back to mind one day in Kenya it was cold so a Dear Sister and Brother gave us coats to wear. Now the coats went on us just as we are told to PUT ON the armour of light! The coats did nothing in a away for the inner man and if the armour of light was just for the inner man how would any see!
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10
“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” Galatians 3:27
This putting on was indeed seen by the very shadow of the Apostle Peter ---->In so much that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. Act 5:15
The armour of light that the Apostle Peter put on cast a shadow upon the world and any that this shadow would pass would be healed. What has the sons of God lost today that we are told to PUT ON!
Yes the Apostle Peter wore Christ like a garment and that was enough to heal the sick as he went by!
MY LORD AND MY GOD!
As I question He speaks. What my mind thinks is the sons of God have lost their armour of light and the Holy Spirit brings this to heart ---->“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and NAKED. I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and WHITE RAIMENT, that thou mayest be CLOTHED, and that the shame of thy NAKEDNESS do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye-salve, that thou mayest see.” Revelation 3:15,17,18
The white raiment with which we should be clothed is Jesus Christ himself, as the Apostle Paul exhorted us to do: “put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Wear him like a garment!
The Lord describes it as white raiment and white depicts holiness, purity, but more than that, it symbolizes the fire (light) of God.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18
A light bulb when off is still a image of a light bulb. When turned on, one sees the light of the light bulb that still is a image.
“And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not (knew not) that the skin of his face SHONE while he talked with him. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel SAW Moses, behold, the SKIN OF HIS FACE SHONE; and they were afraid to come nigh him.” Exodus 34:29,30
And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him (Stephen), SAW his FACE as it had been the face of an angel. Act 6:15
“And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and ALL flesh shall SEE it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” Isaiah 40:5
Fire shut up within has no value to them without! We as His sons must be "ministers of His flaming fire."
Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. Jeremiah 5:14
Purifying fire within shall reach out to the many about!
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? John 7:45-48
“Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made MANIFEST IN OUR MORTAL FLESH.” 2 Corinthians 4:10,11
MANIFEST = visible or known what has been hidden or unknown
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also QUICKEN YOUR MORTAL BODIES by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11
QUICKEN = to restore to life
Indeed from the inside out will He be seen!
