Naked
"And they were both naked, the man and his wife... and the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And... unto Adam and his wife did the Lord God make COATS OF SKINS, AND CLOTHED THEM" Genesis 2:25; 3:6-10,21
'NAKED' It is time we see what the Lord means by "naked.'
Naked = to have the flesh uncovered and exposed!
And, Yes some will think of the flesh as the outer skin that covers the body but that is not what the Spirit of God has to say. See scriptures shows us "the flesh" is our 'human nature,' our inward nature which is earthy-minded, with its lusts and self-centeredness, its ego and I-will which are rebellion to the Spirit.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. ... This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. .... For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. ...Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, .... And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:13,16,17,19,24
So we see the flesh is not the OUTWARD, visible man of muscle and bones, but the inward nature. This nature was in man from the beginning, and could be seen to be in him, but as long as he was IN THE PRESENCES of God he was not aware of it, for he was "naked, and was not ashamed."
It was by the fruit of the tree of knowledge that man discover his nakedness and this knowledge gives birth to the impulse to make an effort to cover the nakedness.
It hasn't changed much in the days we are in. Religion teaches humanity to cover up their nakedness by baptisms, sinners prayers, tithes, good works and even church attendances. These lies are called doctrines, creeds and traditions. They were birthed from the tree of knowledge NOT from the tree of life.
I chuckled when I was studying this a while back when the man of God said the first church could have been called "The fellowship of fig leaves." See though, the Holy Spirit wants us to truly see that Adam's effort to cover his nakedness was not a mere physical or moral act, it was a RELIGIOUS ACT. The nakedness in Eden shows us the spiritual state of being, and the attempt to cover that nakedness was indeed an expression of religiousness!
If you think grabbing a few leaves from a fig tree and covering up the flesh will hide one from Spirit then I pray your eyes be opened to the TRUTH!
See the fig leaves truly represent the devices religion has to cover up the nakedness of humanity. For the works of humanity are but as dried up fig leaves that only fall, just as any work of humanity is but death unto the Father.
Now, The Lord does not spend time explaining what is wrong with the fig leaves, instead He dress them in skins! His skins is but the only way humanity can stand before Him not naked any longer!
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2 Cor 5:19
YES! The Christ was stripped of His skin so that it can be the covering for the nakedness of humanity!
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement (exchange). Romans 5:11
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) Exodus 32:25
It was the golden earrings the people gave unto Aaron to make the golden calf. A symbol of how many give their ears, their minds to the hearing of lies rather then to the very Word of life! See the earrings were GOLDEN for they did hear the Word and obeyed it and left Egypt. Now they gave up the golden earring or the pure word of the Lord for the lusts of the flesh.
.... Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD. And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. Exo 32:5,6
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves Exo 32:7
See they corrupted themselves when they removed the golden earring just as the many that refuse to listen to the Word of life but follow after the knowledge of good and evil corrupt themselves. Even now MANY hear the Word of the Lord but refuse it for man made doctrines and so call church truth. I know for when the Father brought me into this TRUTH the many that called me a teacher, a man sent from God broke fellowship with me for the fig leaves.
Sin is a naked state of the soul, the removing of God for our "self" with all its self-love, self-confidence, self-righteousness, self-admiration, self-effort, self-pity, self-expression, self-grandizement and self-development.
NOW atonement is the COVERING, protective covering of the Lord's mercy, presence, and life upon the redeemed soul.
I saw this in the light of pass over.
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. Exo 12:13
As long as God was the covering (atonement) upon that house the plague will not destroy anyone in that house! God's presence was the pass over that covered the house just as His children have His presences as their passover!
We also see this truth when Moses confronted the people for their sin!
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. Exo 32:25
YES the cry, the pray of Moses was for God to forgive the people of the great SIN and to be their presences again!
Now with Moses do we see it is a SPIRITUAL COVERING! For the inner realm of the soul!!!
Yes, the nakedness of the people was a SPIRITUAL NAKEDNESS of the soul.
When the light of His Word matures us to be His body then the world will see His PRESENCES (COMING).
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:4,5
