Holy Brethren Partakers of the Heavenly Calling

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. Hebrews 3:1, 2

"Holy brethren" PARTAKERS of the heavenly CALLING .....

Now by the blood of the Son of God I am called by Him "brethren" and not just "brethren" but “holy brethren.” That is what I am however the reason why He has called me holy brethren is to have me partake in the hevenly calling of His.

The heavenly calling is to be a builder of His house. He has enabled us by His grace and invested His power into us so that we may share with Him in the building of His house .... We have an example of one before that was faithful. --> Moses was faithful in all his house.

For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; .... Hebrews 3:2-5

This Moses was called by God as one that was “faithful in ALL his house.”

However a greater one has come forth “... Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”

Yes Christ is the greater one that has made us His “holy  brethren” to be partakers with Him IF WE HOLD FAST the confidence AND THE rejoicing of the hope FIRM UNTO THE END.”

Hold fast the CONFIDENCE ..... WHAT!

Confidence what is confidence?

confidence = "boldness" "out-spokenness"

If one loses his boldness they will not enter into God’s rest.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. Hebrews 3:12-15

One that has lost their confidence in God is one that thinks sin has no penalty (Proverbs 14:16). It can be seen when they Have confidence in their flesh and not in Him (Philippians 3:3; Romans 10:11; Psalm 118:8,9)

We can find true confidence in Psalm 16, for David shows us his “goodness” comes from the Lord and everything good in his life has been given to him from God For David in confidence (boldness) has set the Lord always before him and leaned not on his own ways but God’s.

How we must have this “confidence”  for without it we will not come out of the wilderness in to His rest.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. Hebrews 4:1-4

"Holy brethren PARTAKERS of the heavenly CALLING .....”

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:11, 16

Shallow .... but the deep he has called us in ....
